well thought id start my build thread.. 4 seat exo complete...7/28/10

my trade is grooving truck tires and i mainly focus on the circumfrencial ribs, for on road only really. some gravel/traction tires. i have never had a tire come back for grooves cut on the outer lugs chunking, but i have never had a tsl to compare compounds with, im sure theyre a million times softer and more prone to seperations.

crossover

thought id post some more pics of my crossover

this was done with sky mfg inserts and jam nuts. i dont know about others dealings but sky was great. screwed up the first oder by accident but made it right without cost. also using stock tierod ends. links are single wall sch 80 for draglink and tie rod is double wall sch 80(1/2" thick) arm is home made 7/8" plate

2wd box that been tapped for ram and i beleive super lift arm? and the pump has been drilled out for flow

its a shame that you grooved the outer lugs of the swampers like that. they are gonna chunk really bad. I know from experience.

that rollbar may not be "structural" but every bit helps. :D again I know fron experience.
I thought if you didnt groove the outer lug all the the way to the outer edge, they wouldn't chunk?

Also is it just me or does that 2nd pic not look good? that tie rod end looks almost maxed out. What would happen when the pass side of the axle droops down?

what are you plans for this: offroad only, some street driving, alot of street driving. The bogger is good offroad, terrible on the street, lacks sidehill traction (grooving them will help this). Super swamper TSLs are a good all-around tire. Not so good on the street though. I havnt heard much about the pitbull rockers. There is a thread on pirate 4x4 about them, someone was having the problem with the tires "burping" out air when running low pressures

the truck will be mostly a weekend vehicle as im at school. i do see snow mud and will be going to Rausch creek for the east coast guys taht know wher that is. tops will be a 3-4 hr drive maximum if ever

i have a set of dry cracked tsl's but its hard to find street tires that are 38 or bigger.plus they arent any cheaper than aggressive offroad tires

I would go with the swamper tsl radials, there great offroad and not to bad on the street. thats my opinion. I have iroks right now and there not that great in the mud, good for rocks. they seam to were alot from street driving.

a 205 205 doubler would not work as well as a 203 205 setup. you would have to use a driver side drop 205 mated to a passenger side drop and it would be long and heavy and use custom adapters.

I would get a different steering arm. that angle looks terrible. is it a straight draglink and straight arm. thats what it looks like.

I wheel with a guy that ran pitbull rockers. he liked them. if they made them bigger then a 40 I would get them. But I like wider tires and they come in really wide sizes.

yeh the arm set up is not ideal but it works for now. hoping to go to rockwells anyhow. secondly the 205/205 will be using a slip yoke and u joint. front will be clocked and have either a pto hooked up or a hydro motor. and the rear will be the driveshaft outputs. and i an running a long wheelbase so no prob really

update

well guys found out some good and bad news. during inspection at our shop we discovered a broken spring eye. so had to tear out both springs and get new main plys put on. got plys, new U-bolts all for $230 otd. so yeh always a new wall to get over. also covered the pedals in diamond plate and put on a new shift knob.
also here are some pics with 285/75/16's off another truck in order to make it legal for inspection. and guess what with new tires it doesnt shake. so im gettin me some hummer tires for the road $400 shipped isnt bad i dont think.

wells guys it's time for an update.....

well some updates to the body have been steps that are mounted to the frame and will double as sliders(need to be tested haha). this caused me to relocate my tank into my bed. also mounted a high lift to the bed side.
