Went to look at potential buy. Help me out

I just looked at a 1989 Blazer. Lifted 6 or 8 inches with 38's. The truck has longtube headers also. Body is pretty rough, it's a woods truck which it will primarily be for me too. Rockers are gone, holes in the fenders and fenderwells, and one seat post came through the drivers floor. The rest of the floor looks ok. The steering box frame portion does not look like it has been messed with and doesn't look like there is any damage. The tailgate won't go down and looks pretty rotted. Supposedly he has had the truck completely torn down and gone through to make sure things were right. Right now it primarily needs shock mounts welded onto the axle and some other minor things. The axles also have 4.10's in them. Tires are at 25% in the rear and 50-75% in the front. (estimation) Drives pretty decent, shifts good. He has it up for $4000 but I can get him down to $3000 and probably less. What do you guys think?

Yea I was thinking too high still too. Although my post does make it sound pretty bad. I should say just one fender is pretty rotted, the others are ok. I definitely don't want to make a bad choice. That's what led me to sell my old k5.

$1900 is still a lot more than I'd offer for it.

I was thinking more in the $800 range considering all the rust issues with it.

Yea I seen that one. If you don't mind that would be fantastic. I kind of like the windows that open on cap but I guess I can deal lol I want to see what the interior looks like. Prefer a/c and it should have fuel injection

If I could get that back, on 1/2 ton axles, I'd sell it today...

In my experience when someone says they have "torn it down and gone through it to make sure it was right" either they put it back together wrong or all they did was change a couple u-joints and the oil.

I wouldnt buy it for more than $800 thats if it runs good. To me that would be considered a parts truck, sounds like the body is pretty wasted, not that I wouldnt keep it and use it.

My stepsister and her husband had to have a blazer a while back. Bought one that they said had a good body and interior, 6 inch lift and good motor for $2500. I fell over laughing when they pulled up with it. Mismatched interior, body beat to crap, 2.73 geared 10 bolts, which I know because they bought it with bad wheel bearings and I replaced them, and the best part is it didnt have tires They tired to sell it shortly after for more than what they paid. I ended up buying it for $400 with tires

Point is, there are lots of people that would pay way more than something is worth. Dont be one of them.
