I am looking for everyones opinion on what 6" suspension lift I should get for my '86 K5. I am thinkin of getting the 6" Procomp. What do you all think? And why?

BDS or Tuff Country

Either get springs all around or get 6" springs in the front and 2" springs in the rear with a shackle flip.

Procomps ride and flex like crap.

i have a rough country 4" lift, but i have had no issues with it. Some will say that they dont flex and ride like crap, but i dont think so. The suspension worked great at Tellico. Plus RC is a couple hundred dollars cheaper than everybody else.

I have the BDS and love it. Flexs nice and I have hauled some bricks in the bed no prob. Would def use them again.

This is the best option. These two are the best over the counter spring there is. You want as flat a spring as possible so a 2 in rear spring and a 4 in shackle flip as said above is the best setup. This is exactly what Im going to do on my Burb. Im going with BDS 6" springs up front, 2" in the rear and my ORD shackle flip buckets.

Yep, what they said in that order of preference. BDS then TC.

I can't wait to get my flip on. PO put the out of the box 6" on the truck and it's got the blocks out back still. I don't think I'm going to get a 2" spring though, prolly just a longer shackle and a zero rate.

I have the 6 inch BDS all spring lift. It is flexy and I like it, but I am wishing I would have went with the flip and two inch springs like the guys have recommended.

Wait a second.....you want to buy some near new rear BDS six inch springs? :D

I am very happy with the ORD shackle flip, 6'' shackles, zero rate, greasable bushings, TC front springs, and HD front shackles. I just need to replace my factory rear springs now as i sacked them towing home a one ton.

ya I noticed that when I checked out there website...They are about 30 mins from me and I was told that was the place to go for quality springs...

Quality stuff but as said, pricy. My bud used to deal with them for custom springs and said one of the 2 guys that most would deal with is an asshat while the other is cool. I have herd this from others too. Im local too but Im going to run Alcans when Im at that point, better priced and just as good, have herd nothing but good about Alcan springs.

I have a similar setup on my burb: 6" Tuff Country front springs, DIY4X Flip, cross-tied extended shackles, Zero Rate. This gives me all the lift I need to run my 38.5 Boggers (with a little trimming). The ride is great and the flex phenominal.
