big block 3 core rad, was mounted in a square body at one time with the taller mounts. The stock 1/2 tons are the right height but not deep enough. Thinking of just running s 1" spacer and calling it good.

Might run into a hood clearance issue with 1" spacers.
those look like 73-80 style top hats .

So the core supports were different? The previous core support was an 83 k20.It's like the bottom of the radiator needs to go down an inch but it can't. I guess I can always take the two combine them to make what fits. Then again making a spacer will probably take 5 min, and I want to be cool like @Deuling and run no hood.
Big block used a taller radiator, and this required a different upper mount. See here:

That's the upper mount/plate I run with a diesel rad.

For 70 + shipping, I bet you could make up 2 small block style mounts out of scrap you have already.

I used to run around A2 with out a hood on the truck. For whatever reason it invited guys to chat up my wife in the passenger seat every time Id run in somewhere.
