What are my 14bsf traction device options

Have a lockrite in my 14SF and couldnt be happier.. Cant beat the price nor the performance/good road manners.

I run the Powertrax "no-slip", which is a glorified lock-right, in my 14sf. I only run 33's, but I wheel it a lot and have had no problems.

What would you guys say the top 3 lockers (not limited slip etc.) for use in a 14bsf diff for trail use only, not worried at all with driveability on the street? Price is also a factor..

The Gov-Lock and the Truetrac are completely different styles of diffs...yes, they are both classified as limited slip diffs but that is where the similiarities end.

For the Truetrac, just to clarify in regards to the comment about
modulated brake styles"....it works just like any other limited slip (no brakes required for normal use), but dragging the brakes a little can help transfer the power to the tire with traction in extreme situations...this works with any limited slip to a certain extent, just better with the helical gear types like the Truetrac.

Eaton also makes more than one type of differential, so saying that it is definitely a Gov-lock because Eaton makes it is the same as saying that all Nike shoes are identical because Nike makes them.

I've owned trucks with Truetracs, Eaton posi (clutch type limited slip), and Gov-locks. The Truetrac was my favorite for all around use, great on the road and light off-road, but a true locker walks circles around it on harder off-road trails.

i bought (traded a shotgun) a used detroit for a 14 SF a couple of weeks ago. it was still in the axle, along with 4.56 gears, all new bearings and seals and brakes and a matching 10 bolt front. can't wait to get them in something and try it out :D

Tried the lockriht out this weekend and if I would not have had it I would have gotten stuck twice and not been able to keep with the group on another obstacle. Worth every penny so far.
