Is there anywhere I can look to get good info on the trails themselves? How long are they, time and mileage wise. What obstacles are on each trail? The ratings and locations?
I would like to run as many trails as possible. I plan on taking it easy on the first couple of days. I want to wheel and have fun, with a low possibility of breakage. At least for the first two days.
There are a few things that I really want to see, but I don't know what they are called. The trail that has the video of the jeep rolling backwards. The crack. The place that stick out so you can get the sweet pics at.

Basically I am looking for all the info I can get.

Anything from mild to wild . That trail with the crack is pretty cool , its a trifecta , parts of two other trails with that one in the middle : Poison Spyder Mesa , Golden Spike , and Gold Bar Rim .

All Terrains and a single locker would work fine , the more ya got the better though . I wheeled all weekend and then towed my camper home behind the K5 :pimp:

Thats what I was looking for. Thanks.

A 20 mile long trail. That is what I want. I want Golden Spike!!!!!

Thx man, I ordered that book. And a couple others.

I guess when the time gets closer, we will setup a trail list.

How would a truck with 2.5 inches of lifts, 33's, 4.56 gears, dana 44, 12 bolt gov-loc, 350 TH350, NP203 do?

I know i cant make this year but i hope to make 2009

You would have the time of your life in Moab :D

There are lots of trails for any truck, Moab wheeling is unlike anything else. You won't believe what your truck is capable of.

I like that attitude :haha:

That is called "Hell's Gate" and its an optional obstacle on Hell's Revenge. Its the trail that basically everyone at Blazer Bash runs on Friday. The trail is acceptable for a stock vehicle but has a bunch of cool optional obstacles like this one (presidente Fox in Mickey's Hot Tub from BB '07):

Looking forward to meeting you guys out in Moab in Sept

Thanks for posting man.

I got a few books on order and the one with the author named Wells, has come in. I am reading about a couple of trails a night. I am going to waste my entire summer, thinking about this trip.

Just keep in mind, I think Well's guage of difficulty is a bit off. In other words he makes a lot of stuff sound a lot harder than it really is. One of his CO books had my wife all worked up about a particular trail that ended up not being near as bad as it sounded.

The Moab book is handy because there are so many trails. It still gives a good idea of relative difficulty and the GPS coordinates in the back saved our butts on Metal Masher.

Looking forward to meeting some of you TX guys. However I'm not sure I want to meet Leper if his avatar is a self-portrait. :yikes: :haha:

A lot of the book stuff was written by jeep guys w/ 33"-35" tires and a 4" lift. And for that short 93" wheelbase that's enough tire for even harder trails w/ good spotting and a little rock stacking. Every obsticle treets every rig diferently. Some days your the windshield, other day's your the bug....:D

The new book is much more accurate.

One of the biggest mistakes (IMO) was that the old book had Hell's Revenge rated as an 8 when it should be more like a 5 or 6. I've taken many stock rigs through that trail with very little difficulty. It does have a few optional obstacles though too.

I ran Hell's revenge in 2 high all day. Only used 4 high to play in the sand at the end. Metal Masher was 2 high except for maybe 4 places. I was nervous after reading the descriptions. Some of the authors make them sound harder than they are. My intention was to go home with no failures. Accomplished.

My point is, if you take it easy, you can enjoy the trails and make it home. I trailer mine and still did not want damage.

Well I do not know you or your opinions, so I just dropped out of this thread because know matter what I post, you will bag on it because you are always correct and I must be an idiot. Later.

Moab is a great place for everyone and every rig. That being said, Quit fUUckin bitchin about who ran what trail with what rig that has blah blah blah...........

People read about all kinds of trails and have different views about them. My suggestion to people who havent been to Moab is, come on out and see for yourself.
