What are the Moab trails like?

It looks like Michael's posts have been deleted but he did have a good point in saying that you should never underestimate a trail.

I'm sure Brian (the guy from AZ that rolled his K5 on Hell's Revenge last year) could tell you something about that ;)

If you don't have a good flop from time to time, your not taking the hard lines :haha:. Isn't that what roof sliders are for?:wink1: I'll be in Moab for a week this trip, I hope to keep it together that long, so I'm not renting a Rubicon and stuck doing the bunnie trials the rest of the week.

I have seen many a rollover on flat ground.

What are the moab trails like?? Hard as a rock!

Bottom line there is somthing for everyone from bone stock to the trickest buggies ever built. Go with people with similar rigs in modification and body damage as yours.

so I'm not renting a Rubicon and stuck doing the bunnie trials the rest of the week.

Even "bunnie" trails can be hazardous. I used up all my return trip gas budget paying for a new bumper on the wrangler I rented for "top of the world". Ask 70Jimmy!

It's much cheaper to break your own stuff than a rental so I'm planning to make sure my k5 is there this year.

Yep and that part of the trail was pretty easy,:o It was just the cliff on the left that garnered his attention instead of watching the spotter. ;)

Maybe you can return the favor this year.

Isn't there video of that somewhere??:wink1:

Hopefully the weather will be with us, hi 80's mid 60's at night. Every time I go, It rains or floods. Nothing like wheelin dressed like you just steped off the deck of the "Time Bandit" [deadliest catch ref.] for those of you too good to watch T.V.:p:
We started Moab rim @ 8pm, [we thought the rain was over, it rained all day] got passed the power poles to the first obstacle. The rain came at us sideways @ aprox. 35mph. we had to get 8 rigs turned around (off camber) and down to the road. The waterfalls that came off the side of the hill, took out huge chunks of asphalt. That was a little more fun than we like to have.:haha:So we went and did Kane canyon, got back by daybreak (kick ass night run in a down pour).Water crossings up to the rocksliders.

Yea, the cliff had my attention for sure. I did finally send a dvd to you with the video. Did you get that?
