what AWG wire off of BATT terminal / 100 amp unit?

I installed a 100 amp alt and my stock BATT wire feels a bit hot. What AWG wire should I use off the BATT terminal with the 100 amp unit?

I used 8 gauge when I wired my alternator.

i wouldnt use anything less than 8, i used 4 for my 160amp, basically one of the chap bat cables frrom autozone
