Is 3.73 any good?

What gears for specific applications? i.e. off road, high millage?

What is (insert something general) about (insert something general). . . . .

Martin

tire size will be 32.. currently it is stock. it will have a 2in lift eventually

the tranny is a th350.... in the future i hope to add a th400

t-case is a np205... that will stay unchanged. i may upgrade the driveshafts yokes from 1/2 ton.

Id look for 3.73s with that tire size. Will your truck see alot of highway time?

Why go with a D60 and 14ff if you are only going with 32's? The 14ff is a big diff that you will lose power turning and will drag on everything. If you already have a set of 10 bolts or a Dana 44 and a 12 bolt just run them. Also going to the th400 will suck more power then the th350.

Only factory gears for a 60/14ff are 3.73, 4.10s and 4.56s. 5.38s are available now, but those are the only choices.

Those are the only MATCHING factory gear sets for those axles. The D60 had a factory 3.54 gear and the 14ff had a factory 3.42 gear.

your question has been answered, so.....

Why run a D60 front and ANY lift with 32" tires?
i really dont understand you. Ive yet to see a thread of yours that made sense.

I came across a good deal on a 14bolt 3.73 rebuilt axel. It maybe over kill for my application but it is hard to pass on a good deal.

you wont want 3.73s. eventually you will want to go to bigger tires and 14 bolts are a dime a dozen. i went to the pnp today (half off day) and got a 14BFF with 4.10s for $75. 4.10s are everywhere its the 4.56s that are hard to come by. bottom line, dont go with 3.73 in my opinion.
