What is a good brand of gears to run need to buy some for my gm d60:confused:

Cool thanks thats what I was told just wanted to hear another opinion. Yukon it is.

Hmmm....Only really heard bad things about the Yukons. Setup issues, hard to get a good pattern etc. Go do some searching on PIrate, lots to read about there.

I've got Precision Gear 5.13's in my 60 and 14b. I paid alittle more for them than I would have for a set of Yukons, but didn't have one issue getting them setup or getting a good pattern.

I'd run factory Dana if you can find some- yukons are real real low on my list of happy stuff- Jess

Set up a dana 60 Saturday with Yukons. Got a nice pattern and fairly easy to set up. Only had the carrier out about 4 times to get the backlash set correctly.

All the previous yukons my friend has installed have broken in quietly and we have had no issues on the trail.

Ive run Yukons, Richmond, and Motive. Randys Ring & Pinion is a good place to get axle stuff and they carry Yukon. Havent had any problems with either. A little whine when coasting from the Motives but thats from the hacks doing the install. Im buying the tools and doing my next gear swap myself. :D

what ratio are you going to be running ? I have a set of 4:56 dana gears if you want- Jess

dana is good. Superior makes good high end stuff too. For a D60, I wouldn't worry about who makes the gear, so long as its not Genuine Gear. They suck. On an axle like a toy 8" or something, where its not hard to build it up to the point where the r&p is the weak point, I'd go for the high dollar gears.... but in the case of the 60, just get some yukons. They are a good value and should hold up to anything the rest of the axle will. :)
