Throwing around the thought of a steel cased bladder style fuel cell. Jaz to be specific.

They offer them in 16, 22 and 32 gallon (and a few others).

Truck will be daily driven on a semi-regular basis and driven to and from the trail.

My first though was the 32 gallon but it's pretty tall, I believe around 18" or so. I can carry the same amount of fuel as a 22 gallon + x2 5 gallon jerry cans though with the 32 gallon cell and minimize the amount of real estate my overall amount fuel would be taking up.

The fuel cell will be mounted to a flatbed so figuring out how/where to mount it won't be am issue as opposed to if it were going in a factory bed.

Thoughts?

I have a 20 gallon cell in my K5. Works good for me. I haven't had an issue with running low on gas. I've wheeled for a weekend (fri, sat, sun) and only had to fill up once while there.

I use about 12-14 gallons in a day wheelin with my big block. I can't imagine not having at least 32 gallons for a full weekend.

I agree.

I just swapped out my 25 for a 31 gallon and I'll still carry a Jerry can.

Well maybe I wont do the conversion. The cost of e85 doesnt justify having to use that much more of it.

The e85 kit cost about the same as a new carb so I can spend the cash somewhere else...

Friend of mine logged 150% consumption on E85 over 91 octane

Jeez...

I've been using 87 here in CO. When I was in TN I ran 89 but I haven't seen 89 at any gas station I've filled up at here, they have 85, 87 or 91.

Higher altitude means less air pressure which leads to less cylinder pressure for the same compression ratio. So the octane in the fuel can be lower, so that's what they sell here. Ok for stock, otherwise, lame. Not like it costs less or anything.
