Hello all,
The wife wants a soft top and I haven't decided on a color. My truck is charcoal metallic gray and the hard top is black, interior is gray. I'm not sure if I want to go with a white soft top instead of the black just to have a change of color during the summer. I'm not concerned with the top getting dirty as this is a occasional play truck and will not get really dirty anyway. I know the white should also be cooler than the black too.

I think it will look good with the white but others are telling me to stay with the black. Post your choice so I can see what others think. I've attached a couple pictures both with and without the hard top.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't do white, really. Do grey or charcoal (whatever they want to call it) or black. The tops stain easily. If I scrub the crap out of it, maybe the mud splash stains will come out, otherwise whatever is left on it for a day will stay on it.

Black. It matches universally so if you ever repaint, need to move it to a different K5 or sell it, it works.

I just installed a white top with dark tint on my truck. Too early to tell how hard it will be to clean.
An upside to the white that I found was that it lights up the inside of the truck. Its alot brighter inside now. It also does stay pretty cool in the truck with the sun beating down on it.

I would do black, looks good for a much longer period of time, white just gets a little dingy looking after awhile, I am judging this on my experiances with a lot of convertible cars I have owned and worked on

I threw on a black soft top even though the original was white. Everyone is right about white staining easy. Think about a convertible top on a car and how beat up and weathered it looks and that's driving it on the road! Mine turned out better than I thought it would. I went with the tinted windows because I thought the clear looked cheap and to help a little with anti-theft.

Thanks guys, I thought the vote would go for the black. Seems like that's what everyone would go with if it was theirs so black it is. I did have a 1st gen with a white Bestop and it held up very well but I believe these new tops are a more open web type material where my Bestop was more like vinyl which was easy to keep clean as long as you stayed up with it. Thanks for all the input.
