Ruffstuff all the way.

That's fine and all, but do you have a reason? I want to go with the Ruffstuff as well, but if that cast unit is good enough, then the price difference might change my mind.

dont know whic is stronger but i love how the SOLID ones look. will they alo replace them if you break them

I'd never trust a cast cover compared to a plate steel cover...

$119- ck510, (10%0FF) = $107- $65= $42.

Just looked again, Thought it was $94, not save $94.

Still, remember 10% off ruffstuff.

Yeah, I read that somewhere on here. I am still contemplating one of theirs, especially if someone can come in this thread with horror stories about cast iron covers.

I am annoyed that I wrote "What diff cover is stronger" as opposed to "Which diff cover is stronger.

A late note....

I won't say anything bad about cast they just look too "finished" for me, I know how strong A536 plate is and we have never had a broken cover but they have a lifetime guarantee. There are many videos on the net of smashed cast but i think most have worked the bugs out by now....GLO makes a good cover but its not stronger than ours, its 1/4" thick and ours is 3/8" thick. If I were buying a 1/4" thick cover I would buy a DIY cover, Kurt has been a sponsor of this board longer than I have.

Pics of cracked cast covers???

I'm sure a cast cover works fine most of the time...

but there's no way a cast product is as strong as sheet steel.. period...

I understand what you are saying. I just don't want another peeled back OEM cover leaking out my gear oil. The stock one has failed me, I thought the cast one would prevent that.

Doesn't the rear take more abuse than the front cover?

I bought a rockcrusher for the front 60 for 70 shipped and got it today and painted it, seems strong but not quite as beefy as I thought it would be

I think I'll go with ruffstuffs unwelded rear cover for the rear, it's only 10 bucks more than the cast cover and it is a whole stronger. Plus I enjoy welding, and I've never ordered anything from them before.

I have a Ruffstuff on the D44 and it is beef but didn't come with any bolts and couldn;t reuse the stock bolts because of ring thickness, etc and I have a Solid on my 14bolt which is beef too and looks great but haven't had time in the 48 hours they have been on to bang them up yet. Unless you are hardcore I think either cast or plate will do the same job.

as long as it has no exposed edge..... it wouldn't peel, it'd bust a chunk off.. but i'm pretty sure all the aftermarket covers are flush or better... none should peel/crack from a bottom lip....
