what do u guys think of this rig? possible new rig!

Rene your mostly correct my 85 was far from perfect but I had a ton of fun in it. I do belive 88 was the first year that chrysler owned jeep I could be wrong though.

Also I would like to mention the closed loop coolant system. Add a radiator with a cap its one of the best mods you can make to that system.

'88 was the first year that Chrysler owned Jeep, AMC sold everything in 1987.

Jeeps still kept lots of AMC stuff, the 2.5L I4 and 4.2L L6 (both AMC made) stuck around for a while (particularly the 2.5L but the 4.0L L6 was largely based on the old AMC 4.2). The xj never saw all that many changes, if you hated the AMC version you would probably hate the Chrysler version.

trust me I thought about keeping the sub robert.
when I say dd it's only going to be driven a few days out of the week if that. I drive my GF 2004 toyota camery more than anything. but anyways I've always wanted a XJ my dad use to have one that we wheeled before before I got the sub. I want a smaller rig to go offroading in. I plan on hitting the dunes more pismo and glamis. and the main thing hit the trails more. the sub had no problems getting to the trails and back and I use to DD 5 days a week. if I could do the whole thing over I would have gotten an xj from the start and put all my time and money into that than the suburban. live and learn I guess. time for something different. Ima still hit the trails with the socal crew once I get my new rig. the new owner should be pretty happy with the burb once he gets his hands on it.

Thats cool Justin, I understand. Something new is allways fun to dive into.

I had never driven a JEEP product until a couple mos. ago. I was given a Rental Commander. It had UTAH plates so anybodies guess if it was abused, but on the clock was 20k miles. It felt like a vehicle with 120k miles. I only drove it 400 miles on highway. It felt like I was on gravel, but that might have been the street tires? Absoluteley awfull gas eco, but I wasn't paying for it; we all were.:doah:

I like the S-Ton Blazers

Go with the XJ, I know quite a bit about them being a prior JEEP guy and still current owner and driver of a 1981 CJ-5. I still like JEEP's alot. I'm just getting older and I've alway's liked Blazers too. That's why I bought my K-5 over 3 years ago. $hit, I owned 2 classic Bronco's also. Those XJ's are great wheelers.

ok guys I didn't get either of those rigs. I'm still dead set on an XJ I found this one today going to go look at it tonight.
