What do you guy's use to seal your headers with? (Gasket)

Re: What do you guy\'s use to seal your headers with? (Gasket)

I have always soaked the paper gasket in water before you put the on. This way, when you torque them down they seal all the irregularities and dips. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

I have so old headers with ratty collector sealing surfaces. I used aluminum gaskets with Ultra Copper high heat rtv on both sides. the sealed completely and have not blown out

New motor and trans mounts via Napa already in it. What's the chances of the headers being tweaked and just need tweaked back in? THough thinking about it it may be caused by that dang t-case adapter not pulling down quite right. which I still haven't figured out.

i use ROL racing gaskets 2 on each side.they are a metal gasket that quishes when tightened to fill the space inbetween the header and heads.make sure to put lock washers and longer bolts and this is what cured my headers leak.

header to head, no gasket, just black RTV silicone, no leaks
