We're talking wheeling here. I really have no interest in going to a 4x4 park to simply drive over stuff. I have no interest in going to a mud bog where I would be simply driving through mud over and over again.

I only enjoy running trails, and preferably trails that take me somewhere cool. now, a kick ass trail, in my opinion, would have LOTS of rock crawling, some good mud and some nice cruising spaces, but it definitely needs to be pretty challenging... not something you're taking the wife's cross-over SUV through.

what do you like?

IL wheel anything. as long as I'm in my truck and pushing it some way I'm down. i like rock crawling and trails and obstacle courses.

I mainly stick to trails. I'm too heavy for much rockcrawling, and not running much in the way of power useful in mud. I like having a multi-purpose rig...

I enjoy trail riding, but the problem lies in legality. All the cool trails around here are someone's property. I just go to a local 4x4 park (hollister), because im addicted to wheeling and its really the only close legal spot with good wheeling. I'll do nice scenery trails, but there usually not hard at all so its all for the scenery and camping then.

i wheel whatevers around...mainly like above as far as legal trails, there all on other peoples property n there arent any 4x4 parks close enuf to me so im kinda stuck with findin what i can for an occasional ride...

I'm on the East Coast....Almost always have to pay to play.
The only good thing is, there are more and more parks opening up all the time.

We have no Parks and there is very limited places to wheel without finding ways in and tresspassing on to the forest companies land.

WHEELIN IS A CRIME AND I"M A CRIMINAL

I'm good with trail riding, sometimes I would like to change it up but there are few places to wheel in jersey.

same as the previous 2 posts, nothing at all around here (2.5hr drive minimum) but i agree, i love challenging trails with a little bit of everything and a cool destination is even better. just wish there were some near me!:(

i'm surprised to not see more folks voting mud only. i feel like i see people on here constantly saying they're building a mud truck...

guess i also left the sand option out... i know that would've gotten Avery's vote. :)

i like trails and mud. gone to a bunch of competition mud bogs, but mostly we do trails, with alot of mud. not too many rocks here local, but should be able to tarvel some in the future to new places.

Down here, its wide open desert. you can find almost any type of terrain, and alot of it.

I prefer old logging roads and fire lanes. I'm not much into rock crawling any more, (I live in Wisconsin now). The logging roads and fire trails around here do get pretty muddy and narrow at times, but I'm not really into slamming the crap out of my truck just to go back and forth through a mud bog in a field. I guess I like to run trails just to get out and see stuff.

i prefer trails, like tellico and harlan, but i love a good offroad park! or even a mud bog! theres alot of swampy marshlike powerline cuts round where im livin now so we load up bout ten truck every now n then with some ladies and beer and ride. you can across three counties with out hardly touching a paved road.

i built my truck when i moved down here from ky cus my jeep was a purpose built rock crawler wich is fine when thers rocks and mtns on every corner like where im from, but dwn here is a bit different........FLAT!

kinda built this truck so i could do everything, bog, crawl, trail ride, etc....

so far its been a beast! i love it! now i just need to cough up the dough for the 2inch ouverson axles! :doah:

I like the old logging roads and more scenic trails. I've been to some offroad parks had a good time but it seems that around here the trails are built for jeeps and Broncos. I don't mind pinstriping or a little rubbing but I hate rubbing body parts off on the trees.

Hit the nail on the head The Cliffs Insane Terrain is like an hour or so from my house but from what I've heard, it aint fullsize friendly. That's why I've always gone to The Badlands ORV park in Attica indiana. I wish there were more legal trails around here :(

that's where responsible land use and activism come in on your part! :wink1:

i'm trying to get super involved w/ the forest service here. one thing i'm wanting to do is to go up and repair illegal 4wd trails that have been recklessly cut into the terrain - likely for one dudes drunken stupidity. my hope is that by positively reclaiming the face of 4wd, i can get involved in land planning and get GOOD and CHALLENGING trails designed, built and opened up here in southern oregon... :wink1:

I play mostly in the mud. I go to a mudbog event once a year (3 hr drive). Most of my mudding is on public land, under powerlines etc. Most of my vids are of what we call "the gorge" and it is a 5-10 minute drive from my shop. I'm looking to do more in the way of rock crawling next year when I am done building my current truck. But first I need to find some rocks.
