What do you think of the 79?

To tell you the truth, I didn't like the brown when I first got it, but now I would say that brown is probably one of my favorite colors for a vehicle. As for the cowl, it only works with the lift, it looks really good from the side. I believe the blazer or sub. is the only one who can work the cowl hood. Trucks I hate them on, but again it all depends on your opinion. It works for me :o

i hated brown trucks too, until i wrecked my first truck, and bought this as a parts truck. it wasnt anything special, but i really liked the way it looked with the 8" Ralleys on it. like the 81-82 specific Silverados for the turn signals in the bumper. the running boards would have to go for a driver, other than that it was sweet. was too attached to my truck to consider putting the spindle on it that it needed, so i parted it out. a shame too, it was VERY solid, the 305 and the TH350 worked great, and the bucket seat interior was good too.

personally way to shiney for me, but still a nice truck. :D

oh and its been a long time since i have seen raised white letters on tires...

For me it was mostly for the restoration, it was my first vehicle. It had 56,000 miles on it, almost every option (factory ordered), and even had the original exhaust on it if you could picture it with the spark arrestor tip on it. Now it has 86,000 miles and sits most of the time. I had an 86 k-5 that was my beater, that was a good ditch cleanin back roadin machine!
