what does a 514 sound like? got it started! *DRIVING VIDEO NOW*

thanks. i dont know why i went with 8.5:1 i woulda gone with 9.5 or so or 8.1 and a blower if i did it over again. I got the shifting gears figured out, i think i need to make a new linkage mount thing. the engine leaks and so do the t-cases, so after i get all the leaks figured out, i'll find a timing light and try and get it running correct. Thanks guys!

Brandon,
I'll go look at that SCBD post sometime. I might be able to help you a bit.
you can do that with higher compression. you can have 10/1 compression and run 87 octane with the right timming and still get more hp and torque.

Don't forget to adjust the carb as well. Put a vacume guage on it, available at carquest or kragen for $25 or so. Just adjust your idle mixture screws so you have the most vacume. picking the right jets and the right power valve is more involed though.

i still need to get all my wiring figured out, not hard, just cleaning it up, but i did get 2 optima yellow tops from the wife the day i got it running :eek1:  so i need to wire those up somehow
