I just got back from a truck stop with CAT scales (accurate to 20 pounds) and weighrd my tow rig, trailer, and Blazer.

The tow rig is an 1983 1 ton (with a dana 44 swapped in) standard cab, long bed with a th400, 205 and 496 ci BB.

The trailer is a home made tandem axel (6000 pound dexter torsion axels) 18 foot dove tail trailer.

The blazer is an 1978 with a 350 TBI, dana 60, 14 bolt and 42" tires, 203/205, TH400.

The total weight was 15,000 pounds.

The trailer was 3,500 pounds.

The tow rig was 5,300 pounds.

The Blazer was 6,200 pounds :eek1:.

Is was just wondering what everyone's K5 weighed???

I don't have a K5, but my shortbed with BBC/TH400/NP205 and one tons with 36s weighed 5340 lbs

'88 K5 on 10b/14b, 37" H1's, 350tbi, HD bumper, custom benchseat frame. (1x1 square tube)

iirc, I'm at 5,800+.....

How much extra do you think you have. I weighed one time all the extras I took on the trail, thats when I started taking less on the trail! I had nearly 500 lbs of extra stuff in the truck.

In Horton I take pretty much the bare basics, If its a long difficult trail I might take an extra set of front axles but for heavy spares thats about it for me

My truck is up around 7000 lbs.

6.2L / N3500 / NP241, D60 / 14BFF (HD drums), 37" boggers, steel wheels, OBA, full tank of fuel and a box load of trail spares (spare tire, axle shafts, fluids, tools etc)

My blazer weighs in right at 6,020 lbs.

I figure the tools and parts weight about 250-300 pounds. That includes two full front axel shafts, a spare drive shaft, a high-lift, a bag of tools, some recovery gear (snatch block, tree saver, and a clevis), and a cooler full of "soda".

The Casa Grande weighed in @ 6200lbs empty, no gas, equipment, or people.
4 people 800lbs
cooler rack w/ice 200
31 gal fuel 250
10 gal fresh water 80
fishing/camping equip 300

Fully loaded I'm guessing just under 8000lbs

ill be able to tell you soon when i go for inspection... they weigh our trucks... but it is not a k5...

The tow rig was 5,300 pounds.

The Blazer was 6,200 pounds :eek1:.

I got my blazer down to 4250. 496, th400, np205, dana 44, 14bsf. It only had a four point cage and that was with stock wheel and tires we use to load it on a trailer.

It's probably going to get heavier with the front frame boxed and a full cage. It's going to be tough to ways to offset all that added weight. I would have liked to get my blazer under 4000 lbs.

ok went to a local quary and asked the lady if i could use the scale.. she said.. well we are not a public company.. so i said.. oh well who else has a scale that i could use... i need to get the truck weighed to fill out paperwork to send to trenton..

she then said.. well i have to "Look Down To Do PaperWork" so if you pull around to leave and go slow leaving and happen to go over the scale... and points.. and look over here.. you will see some numbers... now I dont know anything and I dont want you to have an accident with a dump truck... so you have to go around...

as I left i used creeper gear over the scale..... 6140lbs... im 190 and 1/2 tank... so ..
6140-190-(9x6) = 5896

but i bought something that adds a few pounds.... check my driveway build thread to get a sneak peak...

4680 mostly stock 77K5, 350/465/205/D44/12 bolt, aluminum wheels w/33's, with top off, Warn 8274 on the front with Warn winch bumper (maybe 100 lbs heavier with the top on and no winch)

5200 with the same truck, 37's on steel wheels and GM D60/FF 14 bolt w/discs

4280 as it sits now, iron 383/465/241/205/GM D60/FF 14 bolt w/discs, 42's on steel beadlocks

All weights are with no people, full of fuel. Probably pack another 75 lbs worth of tools/spares/water

My dead stock '90 weighed in at 4930 with me in it and half a tank of fuel.

My old Jimmy, 6.2, 465/205, 14/60, 39'5's, winch up front and the 12 point cage, me in it and full of fuel was 6000 even.
