What extra gauges do you have in your K5?

I’ve replaced all of my gauges with Autometer stuff, I’ve added a fuel pressure gauge, tach and I have an air fuel ratio gauge I haven’t installed yet. My dash is completely gutted so my extra gauges are in an a/c vent spot and I’m putting a block off plate in the radio hole for the afr gauge.

Having a fuel pressure gauge has proven to be invaluable for tuning and diagnosis.

Is your fuel pressure gauge electrical or mechanical?

Mine is mechanical but it has an isolator in the engine compartment and then a non flammable fluid (I think it’s antifreeze) plumbed to the gauge. It’s all Autometer stuff.

I have an afr gauge and fuel pressure.

What brand afr gauge? I have a Autometer to install sometime soon. From watching YT it appears that you typically need to turn the key on and wait 3-4 secs before cranking, sound right?

Mine is an innovative mtx-ol. It uses a Bosch
Sensor. It’s been pretty reliable for me.

Trans temp and trans pressure. thought the pressure gauge is on hose under hood, and spends most of it's time nu-viewable from drive seat.

I run full factory gauges (with the clock!), An Auto meter tach, an Earls fuel pressure gauge right at the Throttle body, and I use the hand held controller for the fuel injection to display vacuum, AFR, coolant temp, and IAC. I suppose if I had an automatic (...never), I would want a temp gauge for it.

I run a vac guage to see how bad my fuel economy is with pedal position .

Tach to truly know engine rpm .

Trans temp i run 2 senders . 1 in pan for average temp under normal loads . 2nd in the HOT out line of trans before cooler to make sure i dont fry a trans before its to late . I just flip a switch that lets me flip between the 2 senders before the signal hits the guage .

Fuel pressure was nice but my pro flo 4 has it already in its guage pack on the feed .

Only extra I have. Is fuel pressure but it's inline mechanical and under the hood, not a dash gauge

I have all the factory gauges, speedometer quit awhile ago, fuel gauge is on again off again, oil pressure exists, and temperature usually rides one click from the C….all in all pretty accurate. If it’s moving the trans temp is good and fuel pressure is accurate when the carb bowl is full.

I replaced the side gauges with autometers and added a transmission temperature gauge in place of the clock. Have a air pressure gauge in the ashtray for the oba tank. Got c60 reproduction tach/fuel combo from Speedway motors, but have been unable to get them both to work, and right now neither works. Need to set aside a few hours and take the dash apart/test/trace out etc, I think the gas gauge is a ground issue and not sure on the tach.
