Like the title says... I know TONS of people (including myself) have always run ATF for PS fluid. Is this still a good idea w/ a hydro assist setup? Is it better to run actual PS fluid?
What are you guys running and how does it work?

when i first installed the WTO hydro setup. i bought some expensive PS fluid, then after the newness of the hydro setup wore off me, i just started putting atf in there.

Although on the WTO website they say ATF is more prone to causing seals to dry out and cause leaks and such.

i used the expensive pawer steering. cant remember the name but it was a goldish color at autozone. haven't had any probs

napa PS fluid. Im sure ATF would work fine too.

From my automotive experience, I would recommend running p/s fluid. Keep in mind that ATF was specifically designed for transmissions while power steering fluid was specifically designed for power steering systems (duh, right?).

It's not like p/s fluid is that expensive or hard to find..........

I use power steering fluid because it's much thinner and thus makes it easier to steer, especially at low RPM.

Correct it is thinner and easier to steer, but when you are crawling around on the rocks or them mud and you are giving your steering a workout, the fluid will heat up pretty fast. ATF will stand up to heat better than PS fluid.
