I just installed my d60 and 14 bolt on my burb and have detroit in front and rear. Just wondering what gear oil to use the 60 is completely rebuilt and 14 bolt has some miles on it. :D

I contacted Detroit Tech's about this some time ago. I posted the e-mail on here.....I'll try to find the post.

The summary was:
Regular 80-90W

Im running 85-140w in my 14ff with a detroit. I run the thicker oil to quiet the locker down a little bit. Ive been running this for around 4 years now with no problems. Works fine for me.

Good old 80/90 weight. Since the detroit doesn't have clutches this is why conventional oil can be used.

I just looked all through my e-mails and don't have it anymore. I know I posted the info on CK5. I'll try searching for it again.

Cool thanks if you can find the post great. If not I will go with 80/90 or maybe thicker to quiet it down. Thanks alot guys. Thanks readymix.

X2 :D

What are you currently running in yours. I have polyperformance flanges in the front will I have many issues with the front detroit in street driving.

I run 80-90W.

If you leave your case in 2WD you won't really enev notice the detroit in the front. I have driven thousands of miles with my hubs locked. (lazy)
