Been thinking about heat and AC in the blazer. I have not had AC in a blazer in a well never. Never really missed it cause the top was off when warm

Now I need to ditch the AC I have a stock turbo setup from a 6.5 to go on. I guess it's getting harder and harder to find non AC trucks cause I haven't been able to find one.

Was thinking about ditching the whole heater and doing a Mojave style heater. I think I might end up with 2 of them. I have read a couple people who have done this. Seems the stock heater might be somewhat better.

So who has done it were you satisfied with the results?

the a/c is in the engine compartment, the heater core is in the dash/cab area.

You can keep the stock heater. They say using an evaporator from a S-10 will work with the 6.5.

I know Ray. I don't care about the ac and I think k it would be just as much work to use the s-10 stuff as it would be to make a custom sheet metal fan housing. I have one and it looks like more work than its worth.

The whole HVAC in these squares is just so big and bulky and mine is always on floor and defrost even though I have dash vents.

I thought if I did 2 of them I could run one hose to the back seats.

Kind of musing over it now. They make a cover that just bolts on but it's 150

who knows I don't wanna mess around on this turbo swap wanna do it right and only once

I would do it right and once. Even now I am thinking of putting A/C in the next k5.

Its not possible to make an ac delete plate and retain the heat?

Im planning on doing the electric heater next winter when I gut the cab on the street truck. Not sure I would want that for something definitely used in the winter frequently.

Oh yah I could cut down all that's in the way and fiberglass over it. That's the cheapest option which is usually what I go with. But that's alot of crap in a truck to put it halfway between defrost and heat and just leave it there which is what I do.

Still not totally sure on the direction of the jimmy. Last night Bailey asked me to keep it and let her have it when she is 16. So who knows

No AC would be awesome except for the living in Tucson part.... It would be awesome to open up that space though.

I have the Mojave heater in my K5. For me, it works great. The only thing that some would have a problem with is that you cannot control the temperature. It has three fan speeds, not temp control. I use my wing window or cracking a window to adjust temperature in the cab. Again, for me, I really like the Mojave, just may not be for all.

Espar heaters are pretty sweet too. They are expensive as hell to buy new but if you find a Frito-Lay truck in a salvage yard there is a very good chance it has one inside. Those heaters would heat the entire inside of an 18 ft. step van with no problem. They can also be found in the sleepers of Class 8 semi tractors. The neat thing is the heater runs on diesel fuel so you can actually have it running when the engine is off. The hard part is figuring out a way to rig up defrost. There are other diesel fueled heaters out there used by the Class 8 truck industry besides Espar. Espar is just one of a few different suppliers of those type heaters.

Do you run this in your camping truck, Larry? I assume that you hafta bring along a separate supply of diesel fuel for the heater since you're running gasoline?
