What improvements would you make to our website?

Could you elaborate on that?

without any other reason to visit the site, i have no idea of new products, etc... in other words, if ya had write ups, other reasons to visit, tech, i might paruse back around your products page and check out any new stuff....

at one point i didn't visit your site for a yr or 2.. ok, read about Stephen's trucks when i first visited the site.. ok, checked that out.. products, ok cool, i know what you have, bought some things, ok....

the sites i mentioned get me to stop in from time to time with there other stuff... PSC... i'm in there every month or so reading a tech page or diagram... that kinda thing...

More detailed tech info on all products since you have a huge following from the green newbie to the hardcore wheeler. You guys are heavy into all kinds of builds and sometimes it seems you expect all to be on the same level as you to understand. It should limit basic phone calls and direct more solid questions.

Update site more often.
Keep up on in house builds, trail rides and events. Maybe have a K5 or truck of the month.

Maybe a local trail ride of easy to hard and meet and greet through the year.

And whats up for the shipping fees when you stop by the shop and pick things up?

One other thing, I would ask the admins here to change your username of OffRoadDesign.com. That way people know (a) you are a vendor and (b) what your site is. Simple and effective! While some guys may know you are a vendor, not everyone does, and you should advertise your name as much as possible!

actualy just change the ( registered user ) tag to www.offroaddesgin.com this would work. and keep his personal screen name.

I still wouldn't do that for a variety of reasons.

> In the main forums, it won't show his username as the creator of a thread or as the last person to reply.
> Many people don't look at that as they glance at the username only.
> Google ranks terms higher if they have a link associated with them.

Alternately, I have seen many forums allow a vendor to have two user accounts, one personal and one business. At the very least I would do this. All business account posts should be business related, too. This allows people to search on the username and see all of his product only listings, and none of his personal posts. That means people can more quickly find all the products he has advertised, without wading through any posts about his own truck, vacations, whatever else.

I would also recommend he change his avatar to be his company logo.

It's all about making things obvious for people and search engines, which helps people buy the parts they want, and for him to make money doing it. That makes everyone happy!

real quick, and like was said, it's like the site was done in FrontPage (or some other WYSIWYG editor) and is "patched" together from the old site, the new site, etc.

1: The way the products are broke down, suspension, transfer case, etc. That's fine, but it's hyperlinks in the middle of a text box.
2: Your pictures, honestly, are bad. I know that in many cases, taking pictures of a part is almost an after thought, but you have to get good pictures, both installed, and NOT installed.
2A: I know shop space is at a premium, but you NEED to devote somewhere either up the hill in the garage or in the shop to doing pictures.
3: do a store. They are cheap (sometimes free) and there are PLENTY of us out here that know how to do it (and know how to do it for offroad companies) that can help. I've managed 3 different stores for offroad companies.
4: make the site more interactive. You don't have to do a forum, but a way for "subscribed users" to get information from ORD via email would be great.
5: Downloadable PDF installation instructions for EVERY PART. Lots of people order parts, then don't install them for a year.
6: FAQ about the parts, not general, specific. Like the question about the zero rates in the garage. Post up an FAQ on the zero rates and the hole size.

I could honestly ramble on for an hour Chris, Jesse James hit it on the head. It's not consistent. I run a ton of your guys parts on my rig, and will continue to buy more, but mainly because I know you guys, and know the parts, not because of the website. I hit it up maybe once a month or so, at the most, to see what's new. I mainly dig around CK5 to get that info. Please don't take it personal, nothing personal about it, just honest truth.

I agree with the consistency issue, for example the

Chrome Moly Front Axle Shafts

have no order option nor a "call for application and purchase" type descriptor. Most others have a "Buy Now" button.

PS. send price for D44 with Spicer non greasable U Joints, separate assembly for 1972 GMC. :)

I do just fine with the web site. If I can't get a price for something, I just call.
I have a small issue, with ordering from ORD.
I think the thing that always has worried me most, about ordering stuff from ORD. Is that every time I've ordered something. I never get an email, or anything, and all of a sudden what ever I ordered just shows up.

There has been a couple of times, when I was not sure I bought an item, from the catalog, because I never got a confirmation email, even a quick text message would solve the problem.

I just like redundancy in a buying/selling, information environment..

Having used your products for the first time, I agree with others that the directions for some items could be more detailed. It would save time and frustration on the customers end. I just installed a triple stick, and the "install parts so it looks like this" was pretty vague. I used SweetK30's write up for more info.
I know it seems easy to you guys because you deal with it all day, but especially for a first time user, its kinda weak.

I'm pro ORD but I have to agree with this. For my Doubler I bought a twin stick shifter and the instructions included were for a 205 twin stick, ok... "go fish". When I had trouble and asked the answer I got was "we don't sell many of those but it seems like I remember that you'll need to bend one of the linkages to make it fit". ummmm...ok  :dunno:

If I can get the correct instructions over the phone or via email that's fine because mistakes happen but if you sell so few you're not sure then either write it down somewhere or discontinue it. :surepal:

mabye for smaller orders and faster shipping times you guys could add usps flat rate boxes to the system .

this would be super as lots of small items can fit in the boxes. and thay are 3 days or less.

i have gotten lots of stuff from another vendor that is in cali and he uses them. i am in new york. i get them 75-80% of the time in 2 days.

We probably send out 15-20 flat rate boxes every day, if they fit in there that's usually how they go.

Again, thanks everyone for the input

Ok trying to order today and the Check out menu is hard to find after you hit "Continue Shopping" so the only way to get back to check out menu is to "add to cart" and then delete it.

Thats it, great stuff and website

I agree with Kyle89K5, especially the following points.

Keep up the good work and hope to see some changes to the ORD website.:waytogo:
