Nostalgia is funny stuff. A 1985 4-door Cavalier has basically zero fan club. It never was a cool car. Google doesn't even have many good pictures of one. And yet, since I drove one early in my driving career, I would smile if I ever passed one on the road. Not because it's a particularly noteworthy car, just because I happen to have history with it. If I was somehow forced to buy some low-end 1980s econobox (

), why wouldn't I buy the one that carries some warm feelings with it? Left-handed shifting was fun, and I never get to do that anymore.
The nostalgia adds a bit of value to an otherwise worthless car.
