I am putting a 6'' rough country lift on my 82 k1500 and was wondering what would be a length of brake lines i should get in order to get good downward travel and upper travel on my axles without pulling the brake lines. Also, do any of yall have any suggestions as to where I can get the cheapest kit??

I got mine at the local roundy rounder store. (speed shop). Can't remember all sizes, but think its was -4 to 3/16, lines were 24", and with the 6" lift on my truck, looks like I should have enough length to 'em....

Brake lines

What do you mean by -4? do you know of any online sources that are cheaper? ive checked the major sites. (procomp, 4wheelparts, skyjacker...etc)

32'' doesnt hang too much? Have you had any problems with them? the other guy says he has 24'' and thats a big difference from 32'' :eek1: whats your suggestion?

I have 52" springs up front, I was just giving you an online option I've had good luck with for purchase. The 32" lines I have are not long enough, I plan to get longer and will purchase from Classic Tube again.

I've not had a problem with them hanging up on anything, they are pretty long while sitting static, but when I tightened the hose to the banjo block I turned the hose a bit so it naturally wants to hold itself in towards the frame.

I do not know the length for a standard 6" lift. I have seen people run the stock hard line just below hole in the frame where it meets the soft line stock and still use the stock soft line.

If all else fails, flex, measure and add a few inches.

I went looking on the net for stainless lines, and went to ORD's site. I knew that they sell the kits, so went to their site to see what they had. For a 6" lift they say 24" for the front, not sure on the rear, didn't use/need one.

Then went to the speed shop told them what I had, they got me the fitting and line, cost me $66 for everything, just the front.

The -4 is the size of some fitting, and 3/16" is the size of the brakeline off the frame.
