Craig, as weird as this is going to sound, there is an '83 or '84 K20 here in town with Cheyenne emblems on it. :eek1:

Yep, you read that right. The emblem is the correct '81-'87 truck emblem but it truly does say Cheyenne on it. I will try to get some pics of it to prove it.
Wow. I'm still trying to picture that...but I can't. But I believe you.

Craig I do know that 80 was the first year of the Silverado on the Blazer, and the sales brochure doesn't show the Cheyenne option for that year.
Yeah there may not be a Cheyenne Blazer in '80. My wikipedia-sounding post earlier primarily was talking about the pickups, just some "reference knowledge vomit" :D I'm not 100% sure on the K5 Blazer trim options and their timeline...

I know. The first time I saw that truck, I did a double take. I thought to myself "WTF?" Even got out some books and tried searching for info with no luck.

I'm gonna try and get a pic or two.

Interesting...my '87 is a Sierra Classic, but doesn't have tilt, cruise, power anything (other than rear window). It's got chrome bumpers and mirrors, but vinyl flooring, has A/C but doesn't have a headliner, and brushed aluminum interior trim but damned little sound dampener.

I would be suprised to find that my 80 has any sound dampener. But that may just be all the worn out weatherstip. Should improve once I put the top back on. And yes that is one ugly interior combination on the seats.

I have been told that the the power window and door lock wires are under the dash because the outer plugs are independent? (in other words you only have to add the door wires and motors). I can't say it is true. I do know tilt cruise and power locks and windows are NOT trim defined. You can add to any model.

I read this

"One thing that dealers were notorious for was selling a cheaper trim level, and piling on options at a higher cost. For example, if a dealer sold a Chevrolet Custom, with chrome trim, headliner, air conditioning, and carpetting, it would actually cost more than a base model Cheyenne! This would, however, result in a higher commission to the salespersons because of a higher total cost of the vehicle. Because of this it is not uncommon to find a Scottsdale with 'extras' such as carpetting or air conditioning. There are even accounts of owners with a 'fully loaded' Custom Deluxe."
