What is NOS?

well try this

put a hose from a pure oxygen source over into a can of gas and see how long it bubbles before it explodes no you probally shouldn't try it....that is the exact reason they tell you not to use oil on your torch regulators...oil and oxygen will go up without a spark!

Now you're adding oil to oxygen, duh. :D

You said earlier "Pure Oxygen will ignite" Not "Pure oxygen with combustible liquids will ignite" ;)

i was talking about spraying it into a motor duh

how many motor dont have fuel in them?..thats why i said it could go off in your intake...or if your "lucky enough to get it to combustion chamber its an explosion like you wouldn't believe...i understand a cookie will burn any thing with calories in it will burn,,,this is how they measure calories.

I see it all over the place, simple question, google keeps pulling up the damn nitros stuff.
WOW, this thread blew-up. I believe Chris "K20" had the right answer yesterday @ 18:00 with New Old Stock.

Chemically Impossible.

Adding oxygen to an enviroment increases the speed of the chemical reaction. Thus, some things (like a cookie), that would not burst into flames, would when heated. Likewise, adding oxygen to a compressed explosion would increase the efficiency of the reaction, and speed.

Oxygen itself is not flammable nor combustible.

O2 is one of the three required elements for flame

yup, sure is. when you get too much oxygen in the cylinder, and not enough fuel you create a lean condition, which leads to detonation. which eats your pistons.

Thought it was N2O.

Then there's dihydrogen monoxide... watch out for that stuff, it's dangerous.
datz duh high quality H2O :haha: . Can you say hydro-lock :doah: ?

I picked up an XJ really cheap with a hole in the block caused by a stupid teenager wheelin' dads rig in a creek. His loss was my gain.

i'm pretty sure that is what i said in post # 14

duh...the comp said to enter at least 3 characters...so!

Sorry, just wanted to post that line. I have always enjoyed using it when the ricers come up to us in town. Few things beat a line of about 20 big trucks in a parking lot rackin them off at a ricer. They don't belong here and they know it :D :haha:
