yes, recline mechanisms to break fairly easily in the even of a violent vehicle movement. i ran a demolition derby in 99 where the first hit i took (light rear hit) the mechanism gave out. i had to finish the heat sitting up with no support behind me. talk about a beating! /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif if at all possible, if you end up putting reclining seats in a trail rig, have something that will support the back of the seat in the event of a mechanism failure. in my derby cars i always run a chain or cable between the rear doors to catch the seat if it were ever to happen again. in a K truck, you've got the back of the cab so its not a problem. blazers and burbs on the other hand do not have this luxury
