What is this? Charcoal canister? Whatever it is, can I do without it? Only the circled tube is connected, it runs somewhere back on the passenger frame rail toward the rear of the truck then I cant find the final destination. Can I cut and remove?

I've heard that if you remove it, you may start to smell a funny smell all the time. Don't know if that's true. Just take it off but keep it in case you need to put it back on. Then post up and tell us how much it weighs. I may take mine off to save some weight. Every little bit helps when you're running a 305.

I would suggest keeping it since it doesn't hurt performance and removing it could cause the gas tank to implode becuase it would not be properly vented.

Never a good thing. Unless you don't like the guy who's driving it...:D

<Can I cut and remove?>

The thing to remember when working on these things, is that you can always cut and remove.
The question is, will the truck run and drive afterward.......
