I am trying to figure out what this is and what it does. I looked in the repair manual and LMC catalog but no luck. I see pictures of it but there is never a label. It is located on the driverside firewall and has 1 vacuum line attached. It is spherical and slightly larger than a softball. Thanks for the help.

The link doesn't work for me, but I'm sure you are asking about the vacuum reservoir. It's to keep the AC/heater doors working during hard acceleration or other low engine vacuum periods.

Vacuum Res. is what it is. If you follow that hose it will tee, one side going to the manifold and the other going thru the firewall just to the right of the AC/heater box.

Yep, definitely the vac reservoir. I just put a new one in mine, got it from O'reilly.

Why did you replace yours? I disconnected mine trying to find a vacuum leak and I can't detect a difference in the heater vent operation. But then again, who is worrying about checking out their vent operation while their foor is in the gas? Is there any other worthwhile use for this reservoir?

I replaced mine cause it was cracked and I couldn't get the air to change from floor vents to dash vents. Once I swapped it out, all worked perfectly.
