The answer is probably very obvious, but I can not figure it out. What is this box (with the heat sink) atached under the steering column of my 1991 Suburban?

thanks,

No, that's a heat sync on there...got to be some type of computer/chip in there. Is it your PCM? Not sure where those are mounted on your body style truck:dunno:

Delay wiper controller, IIRC.

The heat sink would only be for high-current transistors, not for relatively low-powered microprocessor devices like the computers for the engine and transmission.

delay module for windshield wipers

Thanks. Yah, Not the PCM, that lives behind the glove box. Defenitly not the heater core. I would have never guessed the Wiper delay, but I'll go with that.

Thanks again,

One sure way to tell what it is,is to unplug it,then see what no longer works!....:D...I think its the delay wiper module too...
