Wow, what a thread! Here’s the scoop on the shackle flips. If your going from stock to 4 or 5 3/4" of lift, your going to stretch the driveshaft to a questionable but usable length. I ran mine like this for a long time and it barely worked, it was always at the top of my mind and I busted several stock rear shafts before I broke down and got one to the correct length. The difference in driveshaft length needed for either the ORD or my flip will be about the same since the rotation of the leaf pack will apex right around that point. Most people with blazers do not get a full 5 3/4" if lift but rather about 4 1/2" - 5" with the top on and a full tank of gas. Load the truck up with trail gear and a large spare and your back down to around 4" on stock springs. You will be sitting lower than 4" on an ORD kit with all that weight. Also, the blazers body line makes 1" higher in the rear really hard to see without a tape measurer. A 4x4 truck will see much closer to 5 3/4" of lift so those wanting absolutely no more than 4" I usually send off toward the ORD kit. You will need to look into pinion correction with either flip, this is for proper driveline geometry. Either one may require your e-brake cables to be lengthened or the brackets moved to keep from limiting your flex. You'll probably find that your stock shocks will hang the axle before the Ebrake cables do though. You will want extended brake lines with a 4" lift, but again, your right on that livid edge of pulling on them like limiting straps if you dont hang anything else first. I wouldn't add any body lift to one end and not the other. While I have a 3" body lift, I'm of the mind that lower is better and would not go over a 1" body lift now that all is said and done, but its a good compromise to gain tire clearance if you don’t want to hack up the fenders. A 4" lift is one of the least expensive when you add up what you'll need to run it, but to run it well, you'll still need to make the same mods you would on a 6" lift. Food for thought.
