i just picked up a chevy dana44 with 4.10s and a locker i think, well i know both wheels turn at the same time, i seen it in action. the guy didnt know what kind of locker it had though. i took it apart and it looks like there are some clutch plates behind the axle spider gears. anyone have any idea what kind it might be???

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that the trac lock is the dana brand posi unit. Have not heard anything bad about trac lock so I don't know if they are any good. I would imagine that they are fine. The only bad thing about a posi is that they act like an open diff when one of the two tires are unweighted. I had an Eaton posi in the rear for a while, got sick of burning up clutches wheelin so I bought a No spin Detroit and the two cannot compare. Bottom line if you do any kind of true wheelin then sell it and buy a true locker. I will say that posi's work well in the sand. :)

Trac-locs are good, they come in Jeeps, we dont see broken ones, just put new clutches in em and go. They come in the bigger rear ends also.

YOu can get an even better clutch pack and stiffer springs for the Eaton.
