just realized that 2 out of 4 are leaking, and 2 have shot bottom mount bushings. so....that leaves me to have to replace them. what do the other members on the board prefer for shocks?

thoughts?

I'm running procomp 9000's. Kinda rough riding but they get the job done.

But, heck if I wanted it to ride like a caddy, I would have a caddy not a K5.

I have pro comp 3000s they suck. Buy a good shock it may cost more now but it will be worth it.

what would you consider a good shock? i think there are ranchos on there now....but should i try some other brand?

I've had Rancho 5000's on my truck for about 12 years now, still working good, never had any problems with them. Hope I did'nt just jinx myself.

I'll be running Bilsteins... 5100's, if not 5150's....

Personally I like Bilsteins and will be using those when I change, I also like RS 9000s but with the in cab controller, they will wear out faster than some but they are nice shocks.

Shocks are something that the saying you get what you pay for truly applys.

thanks with all the help. i will do some more research and see what turns up!

think mine has the stock shocks on it still. feels like i'm strapped to a 2000 lb. bull most of the time but i'm cheap. looking into bilsteins myself

Same here...Havent had a problem. Work fine and were cheap

if you want it to ride nice spend the money on bilsteins. if you want something cheap buy one from superlift through their ebay store. they sell scratched ones for 7-9 dollars.

On the cheap (or at least the less expensive) the Bilstein 5125's I think are the best for the money.

i run those on the rear and some SAW's in the front.

i had some pro comp es 3000's all around, the fronts blew up so i replaced them with bilstein 5150's and they work great, in the rear one of my pro comps just exploded so im gonna inboard the rear and get some 5150's for the rear aswell, i got them from all pro offroad on sale for 99$ a piece a while back

Shocks?

ive got a set of rancho shocks on the truck i bought, and im definatly looking to replace them. im not really sure what model they are, but the front end bounces around wayyyy to much. it will actually porpous down the road on the parkway where i live.

I was going to run the BBCS until I found out it would be long time before I'd see them sittin' on my door step. So I run Doetsch Tech 2.0 Monotubes. $109ea. The are built to order for application. Owner rebuildable. Optional remote reservoir can be added later. I'm glad the BBCS weren't available now. I'm very happy with them.
