Ok now I have a few more questions....
1) Why is it clogged?
2) What can this clogged port cause to happen??
3) Could this be why I`m burning oil???
4) Is this my only problem, as far as my motor goes???? I know i`ll still need valve seals, but is it possible thats my only issue, and the rest is being caused by the clogged port? or is it likely that I will still have to do a compression test....
5) If it is, with my motor having high mileage, and all it needs is new valve seals, is it ok to rebuild the top end, ie new heads, mild cam, intake???? or will i still be better off getting a crate from GM?

You need to do more troubleshooting to find what you're looking for. A puff of smoke at start-up would typically be valve seals. Do the comp test. If you're smoking all of the time, and the CT comes back low, then you're rings are getting worn and it's time for a rebuild. The SBC is a tough engine, I've seen them withstand some pretty wild stuff and live to see another day. The PCV is not really all that important with regards to the bigger picture. If the top end of your motor is solid carbon, and caked, you may need to start looking at a rebuild. Have you chased the knock yet and pinpointed it? You need to give us more info before we can give you more. Speculation is only going to confuse you further. Get a solid baseline and report back. What do the plugs look like? How much smoke does she blow, and when? You could always try some oil treatment to slow the blowby if the rings to appear to be letting some oil by.
Worst case would probably be caked/baked oil, plugging up passages and the knock being internal.
The problem probably won't be nearly that severe, do some digging and see what you find. Pulling a valve cover off may reveal a better idea of the condition of your engine.

Well its hard to pinpoint the knock, as it rarely makes it. It doesnt seem to smoke when its cold out, but when its hot out it does, like when i leave a red light/stop sign, or trying to pick up speed on the highway....but it could not be smoking because i put a bottle of smoke away, which was the thickest stuff on the shelf....bowtiepower00 said:

When does it make the knock? Many of the TBI's I've driven can be forced into spark knock by lugging the engine and flooring it. You mentioned you have hypertech stuff on the truck, do you have a chip? If so, it might be spark knock that is being introduced by the chip- all they do is advance the timing- nothing more. Regardless, I'd pull out the timing light and see where you're at. If you really want to get down and dirty, head over to Thirdgen.org and read/follow the ultimate TBI mods if you haven't already. While you're on the maintenance routine, I'd do the diffs, T/C, and tranny if you can, the more you're under your truck, the more familar you get with it and the more likely you are to find out where any trouble spots are, maybe even before they start. If your problems are engine-related, a couple of oil changes, some thick oil, and an additive (STP blow by treatment works well, too) can do wonders.

Yea, all the hypertech thing was was a spacer for the aircleaner, anything to do with the ECM is completely stock. As far as maintenence things go, I have no problem doing any of that, and I`ve had some good and bad experiences, and have gained a good amount of knowledge.....but other than putting the induction kit on my motor, i havent done much to it, which is why I`m still unknowledgable on most of it, but hey ya gotta learn somehow...bowtiepower00 said:

I start her up, wait for the pressure to go up, then i take a peak at the back, and tharrr she blows, not much, but enough to see, so i say, ok i`ll take it for a spin...
Pull out of the driveway, and took off, and i left a nice cloud in front of the house, and again every time i got on the gas, or left a stop sign...
What should i do now??? I`m really anxious on doing a CT....but any idea why I`m blowing more smoke?

What weight oil are you running?
You also need to pull that breather tube out of the other valve now and see how much blowby your getting...

If you clean this thing up to make it easier to follow, you might get people interested again....as it sits now this thread is a confusing mess. People are willing to help, but I think it's time for you to do a "refresh" with the details and add some clarity....
