well, i need a front clip and a truck tailgate for my '73 blazer project. there's a truck just down the street from me for sale and i called the guy to see if he'd sell me just the front fender, core support and tailgate. i've got a good hood, so i don't need that. anyway, he said he's going to take the whole body to the scrap yard and get 200 bux, told me to make an offer. i said i'd get back to him on how much i'd offer for those 4 body parts. how much should i offer?

Why not give him the $200.00 then take what you want and scrap the rest like he was going to?

i have no interest in dealing with more chevy sh!te on my property... don't want it looking junky. :D

Well the chances are pretty good that the guy wants to get rid of the thing complete and wants you to make an offer on the complete truck. He may just scrap it otherwise.

i'm sure he's going to scrap it - he said he will. :) my i just don't need another ugly lawn ornament. :)

You know anyone with a trailer, I have bought stuff like that before pulled the stuff I want and just left the rest of it on the trailer, if you only need body stuff you won't need the trailer for long and it will gone within a day.

Buy the truck, take what you need, sell the top winshield frame to someone that wants to do a fulltop conversion. Leave the truck in a parking lot somewhere.

x2 take what you need and junk the rest, if anything you will make more than you spent. You can have a blazer striped in a weekend.

true. :)

buying the whole truck is not gonna happen... so, any other ideas than $75?

I wouldn't offer him more than $100. But yeah, I'd give that a shot first, and if he wants you to take the whole truck, just follow him to the crusher and take the parts off before the crush it ;)

Seventy five bucks sounds perfectly reasonable to me, that's more that they're worth in scrap.

On that note I'd offer him $40 and haggle.

Do you trust him? Offer to make up the difference. Pull the parts you want and whatever he gets pay the rest. If you don't offer to help load it and go with him to the yard and see what he gets.

Steal the parts:eek1:

Whip his azz an' take 'em:doah:

Take them off while he's sleeping. I mean, shoot, he's CRUSHING the truck, I don't understand why people won't just give up some small parts before they do it...

There's a guy around here selling his truck for $600 or parting it and it has a built 205 with custom shafts. I asked him how much he wanted for the 205 and he wanted 500 bucks!!! $100 more and I could've had the whole truck, but it's the principle of the fact that I don't need the whole thing.
