When I bought my Blazer years ago, it was apparent the previous owner put a much smaller battery in the batt box. It's become obvious to me that it doesn't have the juice I need for all my accessories. I have already upgraded the alternator, but I want the battery to meet/exceed my power needs. Does anyone know what size these full size 12 volt Blazers are supposed to have (cold cranking amps, etc)?:dunno:

i run mt-78dt interstates in my trucks.

gets me 1000ca and also side and top posts. bolt in 100% no problems.

i run side posts for truck basics. then all aftermarket stuff gets top post wing nut quick conect adaptors with reg nuts on them to hold wires tight .

The group size is a 24 so now just go ask the place you buy your batteries that you want the most CCA/CA battery in that group size (group size is the physical dimension of the battery).

Thank you guys... I appreciate your help on this.

The answer is the same as for all vehicles - you need the biggest one that will fit. So this will likely be a bigger capacity than what came in it 25 years ago.

Physical form factor isn't an absolute indication of electrical capacity though -- in the group 78 you can get anything from prolly 500-600cca up to 1000 or so.

Any *other* size won't fit in the snaps right, so you'd have to change the mounting around, or use a bungee cord or something =))
