What size tires should I upgrade to??

[ QUOTE ]
Wonder how well the IROKs will wear with street usage.

[/ QUOTE ]
i have had mine for a few months now and they still look like brand new with about 3000 on them /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

49 " IROKS!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

what did you use around the wheel wells?
Do you have a zerorate in the front, looks like it is pushed forward?

Bambamblazer just got the 39.5" Iroks they look cool and he seems to like them, thats what I'm thinking about putting on the project truck.
iroks - 39.5x13.5x15 - $216 - $860
TSLs - 39.5x15x15 - $255 -vs. $1020 /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

[/ QUOTE ] That is a flexible rubber molding from
Awdirect Since I cut away the flat flat part around the wheel whell these just screw right into the side of the fender/qarter panel...and a much cheaper option than those Bushwackers. This stuff is $3.50 per foot. I needed right at 22ft...PIC

Don't have a zero rate. I think the reason it looks forward is I cut out a lot from the back

yeah your wheel is turned also, so that makes it look further up too

I like the wheel wells though /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I have some 38.5 bias Hawgs and can't really tell a difference in forward or reverse. They go just as good or better than a TSL in the mud.

I have ran 39.5 tsl's and 38.5 hawgs on the same truck and the hawgs did better than the tsl's, even in reverse. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

My favorite mud tire so far has been a set of 17 - 40 Gumbo Monster Mudders.

[/ QUOTE ] I know that's true !!!

I'm not going to continue to argue this point with any of you on Hawgs vs. TSLs but there is no question in my mind that there are far more TSLs out there on the road than there will ever be Hawgs.

That said the first time that I had two lockers and I stepped on the gas and my four TSLs got to gripping, even in deep mud, I was shocked myself as to the immediate forward traction without much tire spin at all.

Back to the topic.....

Damn, that truck has some really straight sheetmetal. No way I'd ever show y'all a pic of my truck from that close up and that angle.

You definitely don't want to ever take a pic from that angle once you order up a set of 40s and make a few runs, either. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I go outside and start it, let it warm up all the time. Sounds real good. Drove around the block a few times too /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
It's been a work in progress kind of thing. I don't mind the body damage either. the body was worked on by a previous owner. It's not straight (real straight). No rocks around here either. The beach is only 8 miles away but can't get hurt there since you're only allowed to drive out to fish...no wheeling. Closest OHV park is Paragon, about 3 hours away /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It'll soon be trailer time for you, buddy. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

3 hours on ANY Swamper takes its tole on you, trust me! After two badlands runs, I'm done with that.

[/ QUOTE ] That never was the argeument. The arguement was you claimed Hawgs sucked, and then bragged up TSL's. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

They do suck, but I'm not going to continue to preach to the choir.

[/ QUOTE ] Okay, you just don't know !!! I'll take Ground Hawgs over TSL's anyday !!!!! But I'd probley take some Boggers over the Hawgs if they'd hold up too street usages as well as the Hawgs. The only thing better about TSL's then Ground Hawg's is the price. TSL's are cheeper. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

That's your opinion, and you know that opinions are like a$$holes - everyone has one and they all stink! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Seriously though, you certainly can't expect to come out and boldly say that "FillInTheBlank" sucks and not get some debate from those who oppose you, especially when you likely have never even owned a set. Don't give me this so-n-so had them and said they sucked, because I've had a lot of stuff that was "supposed to suck" according to someone's opinion and I was very pleased with it. Why not reserve your opinion for stuff that you have actually tried and not bash stuff that you have never had?

1. Thus why I'm not having this conversation.

2. The reason we have a board is so people can offer their opinions. If we all thought the same, there would be no reason to be here.

3. I have no desire to own a set. I know better than that. Hard, directional tires are not my idea of idea four wheeling equipment. If that's what you want to own, be my guest. I don't need to own a set to know that hard compound directional tires won't be any good for the kind of four wheeling I intend to do.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't know what the land is like where you live, but here you'll find everything from red clay mud to big ol'rocks, not much sand, just alittle. I prefer mudding to crawling. I'm not going to say TSL's suck (Becouse I don't run them and can't give a honest opinion, Had them on other trucks, but I didn't live in this area at the time), but the Hawg's do better.

I am glad to know that I work my balls off to buy some tires that I can afford that I think are cool only to find out that they are "junk". I wish that I could make that big $28,000 a year that you do Mr. Auto-parts-counter-guy, then I could afford the best things in life also. Thanks Tim! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
