Would it be a 10 spline or 30 spline? Might be picking up a trial rig, not a fan on the 208s, dont know how hard a 205 would be to swap in. But if i get the truck right it wont matter.

thanks for the info, gonna try to drag home a running 84 k5 for 250, v8 4x4, wish me luck. has title too. May flip it or rig it. Also have a 75 k5 on the farm i could get cheap from my brother, but he wanted 500 and no motor, this is 250 running/driving, figure you cant beat that.

In order to run a 205 behind that 465, you will need to find an 85-up 1 ton only 205 and adapter, 6 bolt round pattern.

Just run the NP208. You have it, and it works (if you get the Blazer . . . ). If you break it, then worry about the NP205, or just bolt in another dime a dozen NP208.

Figured if and when i did 3/4 tons and a lift id do the 205 since id need drive shafts anyway.

No, you wouldn't. My '88 Suburban is a V10. My TH700R4 went out, so I replaced it with an SM465/NP208 out of a 1985 K10. Then I blew up my rear ten bolt, so I swapped under the Dana 44/14bff combo from my '75 K10. I am still using the front driveshaft that GM installed from the factory on that Suburban. I would be running the OEM rear drive shaft as well, but I snapped a yoke off of it, and replaced it with a rear driveshaft from a 1990 V1500 Suburban. It did require a conversion U-joint (#447) for the rear of the rear driveshaft, but that is it.

thanks for the info, but i passed on the truck (same 84 you asked about).

No rear d shaft, motor hasnt been turned over for a long time, plus said it was an orange 307, no wiring harness, etc. Just not worth my time.

I'd buy it for $100 just for the complete 4 speed set up, but I don't know that I would give any more than that.

Yup, same here. its got parts id use, but id have to get a trailer, then take it somewhere else since dads got the yard blocked off (and pretty full nowadays)

Cant wait for a college degree a good paying job and my own land to park my crap on lol.
