what stereo do you guys have in your rigs?

I have a Pioneer AM/FM cassette deck that was probably installed sometime in the late 1980s.

Still works, though. At least it would if I had speakers.

Sony Explode...about 5 years ago's model

I choose exhibit A

I have a 400 watt amp that MP3 player hooks to. MP3 player also has an FM radio setting. No visible radio/stereo face what so ever.

That's the blazer.

Sony explode in the crew cab. Has been a good unit.

one that's currently not working BUT the one in my DD is a Panasonic that has been thumpin away for over 8 years now. It is 60x4 RMS, 70x4 Peak. Weird, they only made it for about 6 months it seems, then stopped. I've never seen those numbers since. It sounds great with my Polk Momo speakers

I just bought this Sony, a couple months ago.. so far I'm very happy with it, like it's features..

Iv used nothing but pioneer for years, but as long as you have a aux port and a usb port on it, its probably fine.

I just prefer pioneer.

I get whatever is on clearance a walmart. Most times they are sony but last one was a JVC. That way if they get broken or stolen I am only out $75 or less.

I always buy Pioneer. No real reason, I just liked the first one I bought, and then they are easy to swap around in all of my vehicles. Until a couple years ago when the jack asses changed their plug on the back of the radio . . . . . .

Got any pics? Do you just have a plug on the dash?

I've had a pioneer for about 12 years. It finally died and I bought a Sony from my buddy for 40 bucks used. It's hard to find the conversion plug to hook into the stock harness without cutting it so just beware you'll have to modify your stock harness or buy a repro stereo from a restoration place that hooks up to tour stock harness.

Probably one in my build thread but really nothing to see. 4 allen button head screws is all you see. Cable comes out from underneath the dash to plug in the mp3 player.

EDIT, found this one.

thats what i used to do then i starded getting them from amazon sometimes cheaper than wally world even after shipping

Pioneer, cuz their plugs were always the same and I could just swap the headunit and not mess with wiring. BBBUUUUTTT someone decided to change it and I had to rewire my newest one, where I discovered my twisted/taped connections probably are not the best, so I got to solder it this time around  :haha:
