what stereo do you guys have in your rigs?

I had an Alpine head unit w/ a mix of Boston Acoustics and Rockford Fosgate speakers and Sony and Rockford Fosgate amps in the blazer. It hit 126 db when it was first installed:woot:
I'm going to scale it back when I put the truck back together.

I just looked at this Kenwood head unit to put on the motorcycle.

I liked the simple controls and bigger buttons for when I'm wearing gloves. I also liked it's interface for scrolling through mp3s and Ipods.

One of the things I like about these modern units is the front USB port. Put one of these 32 GB compact thumb drives in it and leave the Ipod at home.

They stick out less than 1/4" and you have around 10,000 songs on tap.

I have pioneer and polk audio in both my trucks and the toy hauler got the first pioneer HU. I traded between vehicles and also ran into the newer style plug on the last one a few years ago. It sucks that the new pioneer worked with I Phones to run pandora wirelessly but it won't do it with Android, as far as I know.

I've been using a nakamichi cd45 in my Tacoma for about 10 years. My k10 I put a $50 dual unit that only takes digital media got it at advanced auto I really like it so far

I've always run pioneer head units. I also noticed that adding just their head unit will do a lot for stock speakers. More than any other head unit I've experienced.

lets see, long tubes/purple hornies.... O wait thats a different kind of music.

got a old kenwood deck hooked the almighty stock center speaker :haha:

The griz has a JVC headunit, Alpine 400 watt (?) Amp, 4 - 6x9 sony xplod 3 ways in boxes under the front seats, and 2 - 10in sony xplod subs in a custom center console. Its loud, AND sounds good. For the record, stained and varnished plywood actually makes a rather attractive speaker box. Never got around to adding pretty trim, but still works.

My favorite Headunit ever is in my Jetta, running through factory blown speakers (havent gotten around to swapping them yet), and still sounds pretty good when its not buzzing, is the Sony Xplod MP80, beautiful headunit, and very intuitive 2 dial control system, also has RCA inputs which I linked to a 3.5mm jack, so I can hook up ipods for long road trips. I have a 4 channel amp and speakers (all xplod) ready to go in someday... probably next spring/summer. I just dont feel the jetta NEEDS a subwoofer.

Cheap 300w amp, iPod dock, and 6" wakeboard tower speakers.

Dual something or other from Crutchfield.

2 3.5 bostons in front and some old sony 6x9s in boxes in back.

not too bad

A Sony of some sort. Has an aux port in the front as well as a usb. 95% of the time I just plug in my iphone cause all my musac is on it, charges the phone at the same time.

Made sure to get the same radio for the Volvo so there wouldn't be any operator button confusion when jumping between the 2 vehicles. :D

i have a pioneer avh-p2300-d dual-DIN touch screen in the center console of my blazer. i pulled the plastic clip-in cup holders and added a plate which i sank the head unit in. it's amazing to have the screen literally at my fingertips while driving. plus it blows everybody's mind when they see a touch screen radio in an 80's truck.

i left my stock radio in just so i wouldn't have to cut the hell out of one of the last nice dashes in new england. it fills in the space nicely. i'm thinking about repurposing the radio dials and buttons for something else, like a hidden kill switch or lights. sneaky sneaky right? :thumb::thumb:

Will be getting the ability to pug in an iPod and control it through the radio this winter, also have these behind the back seat... Total investment will be around $200. I feel that
s a good price for a great set up that i will have zero worries of it ever being stolen. And it looks like it belongs there and is easy to use even with the piss poor location of radios in these trucks.
