Found this tool in a box. Any idea what it's for?
Made by bear. Has serial number 54589.

No offense intended J, but I'm not in the least bit amazed that you've seen one of what ever it is before. I hope to have as many stories and to have seen as many things as you when I'm your age.

It's a box opener

It's for adjusting toe on tie rod ends. The hook fits into the slit in the adjuster sleeve between an inner and outer tie rod end. It works well so you don't have to use channel locks.
