Snap-on and their subsidiaries have been buying smaller US and foregien tool companies for quite a while, they had a huge push in the late 80's and early 90's and continue to expand today. Its not always easy to tell who is making and branding what. I have been told that Danaher makes Snap-on sockets but to their specs, Waterloo makes the boxes, Williams screw drivers, and i think wright makes some of the wrenches. There is absolutely nothing made in Kenosha any more, though it remains the headquarters. As with most things you get what you pay for...
disclaimer- some of this could have changed i haven't really inquired about it recently.
All overpriced in my opinion.
What do you do for a living?
Overpriced our out of your price range ??? there is a difference
Seems like a majority of the people who complain about the price of Quality tools don't use them enough to know the difference .
Would you run a Marathon In Flip Flops or "overpriced" Running shoes???
I mean there both shoes and do the same job right?

All overpriced in my opinion.
He is right though. Snap On tools are retardedly overpriced. They are much better tools, but the price is ridiculous.

As yellowk20 said snap on is only worth it if your going to be wrenching for a living. I use snap on quite often at the shop i work at and i do love it but i would never pay those prices for what i do at home as a hobbyist. My craftsman does me just fine for home use, Only thing i would really reccommend from snap on for a recreational wrench monkey is the snap on ratchets. The instant engagement they provide can really help out when your in tight spots.
Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean its over priced.
As would the concentrically broached wrench heads and sockets, higher shoulders, etc.
Tools are priced accordingly. If they were so overpriced, then you buffoons could celebrate Snap-on going out of business, but instead, we're 92 years strong, we hold our own credit accounts in house and we're ever expanding our product line. Overpriced? No. Professional quality priced accordingly? Absolutely.
Changed? nah, completely wrong, yep.
Waterloo has nothing to do with us or our company, the epiq and master series boxes are produced in algona, Iowa using virgin pittsburgh steel, and the kra stuff is produced in newmarket, canada.

Probably easier for the average guy to just go with a MAC Tech series or Snap-On KRA.Why would you call one of your customers a buffoon??? You are NOT a good representative of Snap On.
Please find a post where I have ever said they weren't superior tools. Oh, and of course Snap On offers credit, don't even get me started on that. Well actually you can if you want, I have taken advantage of that a couple of times.

I wasn't aware you were a customer of mine. Please, let me beg forgiveness. I notice you never actually address the conversation, rather you like to belittle people. Good on ya, you could be a politician.
If they are superior, then they aren't overpriced, I'll say it again, a company doesn't stay in business 92 years without doing something right. Obviously they are NOT overpriced, as professionals around the world depend on them on a daily basis.
