I am having problems trying to figure out what time to run on my Z71 when I am done building it. I want a 37" tire, this truck will see mud, some trails, and I will prob drive it to work now and then. These are the tires I am thinking about.

Irok 37x14
BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2 365X75R16C (Yes I know its a 38 )
Mickey Thompson Claw (Radial) 325X80R16D
Pro Comp Xterrain 325X80R16D

love my iroks, i've had 2 sets of them (sold the 1st set to get the bigger size). a buddy had the 36x13.50 iroks and they were closer to 37" tall on 15" rim. just something to think about

ig you keep the proper tire pressure they can last a decent amount of miles, considering what they are

i never had any problems with deep pits:dunno: but im also running lockers and 42's

I think it's a similar deal to the pitbulls and the soil in Alaska, but SXs and LTBs definitely go a lot farther than iroks do in the mud up there. Hell, so do KM1s for that matter.

This really wasn't a bad hole, My ATV on 25"s drug another stock atv through it. I think I even made it through in reverse at one point. Properly cleaning tires should have covered that rig in mud by the time he was this far back in that trail. Even my buddy's mtrs were flinging clumps out of the tread.

I think the scooped shoulder lugs tend to pack clay in the voids, but I think that's parts of what gives them such good traction in loose stuff.

Just cuz videos are fun

Really, that hole he was stuck in wasn't that bad. I didn't bother getting pictures of the Toy going through there cuz it wasn't really an issue, but he's only running 35" MTRs and open in the front. Hardly in the same class as 40-42" iroks. I just think this video is sweet. It's about a quarter mile after where the XJ was stuck. (damn dog always wants to chase the clumps of mud)

This is the swamp from a couple years back when Peterson's did a writeup on Boulder Creek, AK with the blue 4-door TJ on the cover, BTW.

I'd say go for the BFG tires. a friend of mine has them on his silverado and likes them alot. I'm running 35x15.5 tsl/sx not very great for the street but do great offroad. I do drive mine to work occasionally tho. I'm running some 33" mastercraft MT's on my daily driver 1500. great on the street and decent off road. not sure if they come in 37" tho

If you want to drive 10 hours to VA you can always buy my used 35" Toyo Open Country M/Ts which are in the classfieds .... ;)

/shameless plug.
