For those who have gone crossover, what have you done with your drivers side studs on the knuckle? I don't imagine myself ever using them again, but I hate to let the threads just sit bare and rust. It also looks funny to have three studs with nothing bolted on.

Back them out and put a bolt covered with antiseize in its place?

I'm really confused with this question. Which studs? Did you remove the spring cap?

Sorry should have clarified. It's a 10 bolt. I just read you can weld a nut on the studs to back them out. Is this the easiest way? Couldn't you just put two nuts on and jam them to back the studs out?

Never, high steer won't fit with my new springs.

I would leave the studs, cut up a section of steering arm and leave it bolted in place for a little extra rigidity. I dunno if it would do anything, though

I left my steering arm bolted on, in case my box or a piece of the crossover ever fails I can swap back to the other box in an emergency.

Well, honestly, I couldn't get the thing off anyways, so that's my intelligent excuse for leaving it. But it does serve a good purpose should the planets align and somethin break.

mine came off with 2 good wacks with a bfh. I will probably just pull the studs. If I had left steering arm on to begin with I might have kept it. I took it off with the idler arm and everything attached so it will probably be a pain to separate without bolting everything back together.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm, have you no rust up there? :haha:

I heated mine, beat on it, chained my dog to it, cussed at it, threatened it with my X fiance, and even went so far as almost unleashing my children on it, and it refused to even slightly move. So, its permanent.

My axle was govt surplus, put it in last fall.
