What to do with old tires?

just rent a dumpster and put them in there and cover all tires with trash and haul away. There 100$ around here and at 4$ per tire x 40+ tires thats a lot of cash (160). Plus no dismount time for the rims ($), throw those away also. Thats what ive done in the past and it works well if you have a friend with trash to help pitch in on the dumpster. DAMN, i thought my 18 rims and tires was a lot holy cow man 40 or so is out of hand. If there all swampers then good luck, they wont fit. lol.

around here you can call for a special pick up and the city will pick them up on trash day but they will only pick up 8 at the time my uncle has put out tires every week for 4 or 5 months until they told him he they wouldnt take any more untill the next year

thats kind of what i was thinkin

maybe you could just throw 1 or 2 in the bottom of your city dumpster every week lol. itll take ya close to all year, but they will slowly leave your home.

That's what I plan on doing eventually.

I made a small "tire pit" for the last 2 years of the 4x4 events we had but no one really drove over them. I know that around here if you burn them it's a big fine. So we try not to do that. I'll make something out of them all eventually.

hey allen... that recycling center right at the Gieger Hts exit burns them for fuel, the charge by the tonage I'm not sure if thiers one closer to Ione if your really want them gone. I dropped a couple of the other day with my neighbor. We're getting rid of a lot of crap out of our garages! Filled up my 2500 and only costed me $15

Disposal rules vary so much.

Here the local dump will take a limited number of tires per visit (1 or 2 I think) if they're taken off the rims.

I also have a connection with a wrecking yard. I know I can go there with a case of beer and run their tire machine for the day. :D They do NOT pay a disposal fee - other than what it costs them to take the truckload to the recycling facility. Local tire shops get the same deal. IMO, you are only really pissing off a tire shop if you are dumping tire/wheels that need to be broken down.

I just sorted my tires/wheel today. 22 are complete junk. 15 more to be broken down - keep the wheels. 4 more to keep as-is. 6 more junkers that are holding up trucks right now. :o

When I told my wife I had 40+ loose tires/wheels around - she didn't believe me

Is it really bad to bury a tire? What if I wanted to make some jumps with them on my own property? Or would the ministry kick my ass?
