What to use? Liquid Wrench, WD-40, ...?

<font color=purple> Anybody ever try Coca-Cola ? Seriously, My grandpa used to put his rusted together nuts and bolts in a bucket and pour Coca-Cola in there and the next day they were clean as a whistle ! I poured some on my tailgate bolts tonight so I'll tell you how it came out tomorrow !

I have heard of using Coke to free siezed engines, so I will be anxiously awaiting the results of your trial, Riz. As for the penetrants, my vote goes to PB Blaster.

PB is the best I have found. However if you soak anything long enough it will work just fine. It's hard to wait most of the time.

PB Blaster is an excellent penetrating oil. WD-40 and Liquid Wrench seem to evaporate pretty quickly.

I also keep an aerosol can of white lithium grease in the garage to lubricate hinges and stuff that I can't easily reach. The white lithium stays on there for a long time.

It's a great day to be alive...

For penetrating oil, I prefer Zep 45 or Liquid wrench. For lubrication purposes, I always keep a couple of Mystik's JT-6 "chassis grease in a spray can" around, and a can of white lithium.

Instead of a new thread......

It's been a few years. Anything you guys have had better luck with than WD-40?? My biggest gripe with it, is that I can barely seem to use half a can before the aerosol gives out and it won't spray. Then it's just a new item for target practice.

What's good? Any new stuff since '01?

Pro tip, if you run into that a bunch, quit "wasting" money in the aerosol cans, and buy it by the gallon. Put in a small squirt bottle (with adjustable nozzle). This has worked awesome for merge last year or so, seems much more efficient. You can laser beam the spray, or mist it on, you can blast it out with a quick jerk of the trigger or let a slow trickle out. WD40 is hard to beat for what it does, and for the price.

I like wd40/pb blaster. Our justice brothers guy keeps trying to sell me on their jb80 because its "twice as good" Honestly, for $8.99 a can, I'll stick to the cheap stuff.

pB is my go to. I have a can of In-force from BG the rep lett me try. Works well but is pricey.

the latest rage is ATF cut with some acetone...

PB, Deep Creep and Kroil seem to be about the same imo... WD is an outstanding water displacer and mild lube, but is not a penetrant like kroil, PB or L. Wrench...

Didn't see this one listed, and I think it is new since 2001 'Loctite 'Freeze and Release'

Worked like magic on an iron plug in an aluminum bung, I know my dad has used it on steel/steel pieces with success as well. Same idea as using a torch to heat the surrounding metal, just working the opposite way.

I had some luck recently with WD-40's new "Specialist" rust release penetrant spray. Before that I almost always used PB Blaster though. Never found a rusted bolt I couldn't remove with some PB and a little heat from a torch.

Well to continue this thread revival. I also bought the WD-40 new rust penetrating stuff. Seems to work as well as other penetrents. I too mostly use PB blast.

Didn't even know they made this stuff but saw the can last week and got it, the main thing I LOVE is WD's built in spray straw/sprayer. Best invention ever. So I think I'm switched, souly for that purpose.

Breakaway by cyclo. Works as a penetrant and lubricant. Not flammable and does not smell like pb blaster.

Kroil has been my go to worked where I couldn't get pb blaster/wd40/liquid wrench......to work.
