Found a 1978 c30 crew cab 4x4.It has a 366, and th400 in it but the guy didn't know what rears or transfer case was in it.Thanks

Full or part time 4x4? Single or dual rear wheel? Cab & chassis or factory pick up?
A 366 is not a factory option for that truck so that (if not more) has been swapped.

3/4 ton status
a C30 is 2wd. A K30 is 4wd. In a 78 if it is a K30 and original it should be a Th400/205 or 203 with D60 front and either a 14bff or D70 rear. A 366 is not stock as mentioned.

a C30 wont have a transfer case... a K30 would...
rearend could be a dana 70 also...
same cover as a dana 60... only looks like it doesnt fit...

I don't know for sure but I drove all the way to pa 3 hour drive to and looked at a 1978 chevrolet c30 crewcab 4wd.It is the same as this truck

Except it didn't have the lid.The guy told me the transfer case had 2hi 4hi and 4 low but when I got there it had 4 low lock,4 low,4high and 4 high lock looked underneath the truck and it had this big ass ugly thing under it a full time 203 transfer.So I wasted 6 hours of my day 40 bucks in gas and I got a $$290 dollar speeding ticket
So that day was a complete bummer however I did find everything I am looking for today a np205 hooked up to a th400 non slip yoke.Everything is there still bolted to the truck and I am going to unbolt it saturday.And guess what?The guy said the truck is a c30 crew cab 4x4.
However this time I had the guy send me pictures beforehand.Anyways The truck I went and looked at has a th400 np203 14 bolt ff and dana 60 front with the conversion lockouts on it and he is only asking 600 for the truck it is located in media pa I have the guys phone number if any of you are interested in it.The truck is real rusty but he said it still runs and drives but I didn't witness it.
