Seems like many people use the Winter to do mods and upgrades to their rigs especially if yuou live in the colder climates. So, what is everybody going to realistically do to their rigs while it's too cold, rainy or otherwise not a very nice time to wheel.

Here is what I am trying to realistically get done this winter.

*Install my 14bff with disk breaks and 8-lug my D44
*New rims and tires to fit said axles.
*Install new Energy body mounts.
*Finish York compressor OBA system.
*Add more tubing to family cage to mount seats to cage rather than the tub.
*New Carpet kit.
*A few other small insignificant things.
*May have an Edit/Update down the line.

So what are your guys plans????:D

Weather never gets to bad down here, but after I get my axles in, it'll probably be a lot of small things unless I come into some money.

-Herculine the cab area
-Install Tach
-Install Trans cooler, and temp. sensor
-Install CD player and new speakers
-Build a new center console to possibly house said CD player

I'm sure the list will grow.:D

Rebuilt carb, gauges, door and top weather seals, and an ORD Steering box brace. Got to find some cheap steel 6 lug wheels to mount new tires on... I'm going with 33x13.50 Super Swampers. No lift for now!

1/4 elliptic 4 link in the rear
Antiwrap bar in the front
Doubler and full flat belly skid
Propane?
Do a better job with the skins
Lights
Beadlocks

I'm sure I'll come up with a lot more stuff once I start messing with the truck again.

Chop the frame at the B piller and link it out from there. Oh, and get some new tires. Maybe Iroks.

Fix drive shafts
Fix spun main bearing.
Fix busted winch.
Propane?

Wow mines pretty simple

-tranny cooler and temp gauge
-Dual battery's
-Wire up my reverse lights
-get some fog lights for the front
-fix a tiny rust spot from the mosture of the exhaust
-Remove all the emissions Crap
-maybe pick up a wilson 1000 for the roof, (then i can ask for a CB for Christmas)

Thats about it

the first 5 are gonna be done before winter even though my truck gets stored for winter

In between wheeling this winter , I may get my crossover done , and work on adding to my rollbar to make a cage :pimp:

Not much for me.... mainly gonna be working on getting my dash into production...

odds and ends system wiring.

finally have a line on my latches to finish the lexan covers for the electronics box and breaker glove box...

pickup tailgate

maybe a new front clip if that deal goes thru... Be nice to get the copper 100% done...

and most importantly, gather cash and parts to go 1 ton and 37's in the spring...

summer will be front floors/sliders... fiberglass rear and door panels...

hopefully next winter will be lots of tube work! :D

Definitely going to do list:

* Pull body off of frame, undercoat, line interior, repair panels, re-paint:crazy:
* pull engine, build, and install 383:D
* relocate rear mounts on the front springs and install 7" shackles:wink1:
* fix my rear winch (whenever I figure out what is wrong with it)

Want to do but not sure I can afford yet:

* Roll cage:laugh:
* Matching suspension seat for the rear:laugh:
* New tool box for extra parts and tools for the rear compartment:wink1:
* New bumpers:rolleyes:

What I want to do but know I can't afford:

* New driveway and shed on opposite side of house. I had to remove my light bar because it would have hit the roof when pulling through the carport to get to the garage:doah:

finish the cage.
taper the front.
swap my front 8" springs for 52's and zero rates.
install CB.
make a front bumper.
install some kind of lighting, front rear and in the cab.
make mounts for a fire extinguisher and cooler.

the first three seem like a lot but I have everything to do it. I just need the time.

Brakes !!!

1) Ordered and received my 1 ton M/C and booster.

2) Remount the caliper mounts (Found oot the dude I bought
....the axle from installed them on the wrong sides  :doah:!!

3) Install calipers/pads.

4) Order brake lines and install.

5) Fill and bleed system.

6) Drive to Justin's house (Mr. Smartass) and make fun of his axle swap :D !!

Pull body off frame.
Take body to scrap yard.
Build cage.
buy seats
Tube my tera60

Hopefully I will be ready by Feb.

I still have 2 more Moab trips this month before I start the teardown.

Well, i just put my motor in last night, I should have i running in a day or 2 and then all winter im going wheeling. In all reality, it gets muddy here and ill be doing all new hub seals again because thats what i always do every winter once the mud rips them apart.

I use my K5 more in the winter than the summer. I love wheeling in the snow and mud. I work on mine in the summer so it will be in good shape for the winter.
My Mustang gets worked on in the winter. I cant drive it in crappy weather so i might as well make it faster.
But I am planning to make some HD extended shackles for the rear. But that wont take very long to do. Hopefully next saturday.
Looking to get a set of cheap 193 heads port them and valve job also want a stock TBI manifold to see if I can improve it with a little port/runner work. That will be a little project for this winter. When they are done I will install along with a mild cam.

Bastard... it'll be done soon. The D44 is ready to bolt in, waiting on that old guy to finish the gears in the 14bff... and I gotta find tires.:p:

I just found oot that I have to tear down the whole wheel assemblies just to remount the caliper mounts :doah::mad: :( !!

The bracket that's leaning up against the rotor.

So the joke is really on me :o !!

Thursday was hopefully Big Ugly's last road day until spring time. Snow was officially predicted on Thursday but thankfully didn't show. It's been washed and is now sitting in the garage happily leaking on the concrete.

Lemme see now...hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to paint and clean up where I cut the fenders a little while ago and the hitch we made for it.
Also need to paint/rustproof/etc the floorboards and a few odd rust spots on the body.

Got to be done but scheduled as time/temperature/money permit:
Groove/sipe the XL's.
Paint the wheels black.
Pull the vinyl mat out and get the insulation/sound deadener/moisture retaining POS off of the trans hump.
New shocks.
Working horn(s)...louder than stock.
Replace the door hinges?
Figure out how/where to mount the radio antenna.
Cup holders.
Spare tire mount in the bed.
Figure out how to get said 130-lb spare into said bed.

MAYBE install small spots and backup lights in place of black out lights.
If I can find one I want to put a sliding rear window in. Not a priority but I really want one.
